"My little voice can’t lie”, 2009-2015, performance & sound, 00h: 03m: 09s looped sound track, presented at the Biennale of Sydney, Cockatoo Island, Australia, 2012

In this performance viewers are invited to hear recorded text created from stories of displaced women. Their stories emanate from speakers embedded at the ends of my braided hair. The sound track is looped, and viewers will need to hold my braids in their hands and press the ends of my hair to their ears to hear the stories. This work creates traces of collected memories and generates witnesses to the past. This work becomes a mode of inhabitation of both place and memory.
